How Does Switchboard Surge Work?
Switchboard Surge takes advantage of Switchboard’s own open source SAIL (Switchboard Attestation Inference Layer) framework to verify a hardware proof of each oracle as it joins the network, ensuring the oracle sharing data is only running verified Switchboard code. This oracle then streams data from its sources directly to dapps without needing to report state to any middleware layer, including its own Layer 1 chain.
Traditional Pull Oracles vs Surge
Traditional oracles collect price data, write it to a blockchain, wait for the chain to reach consensus, and only then make it available to the protocol. Every one of those steps adds latency. Switchboard Surge skips them.
